  • The difference between monk and lay, between monk and priest, between priest and lay practice.
  • How practice changed in Japan and is changing even more radically for women and men as it's growing on American shores.
  • Outstanding lay practitioners, past and present.
  • The true spirit of practice that we all can share.
Exploring the Heart Sutra

It contains only 262 Chinese characters, and can be recited in less than three minutes, yet contains the core of Mahayana teachings. It is recited daily in Zen temples around the world as a foundational teaching. In this series of six meetings we will examine the Buddhist philosophy expressed so succinctly in this sutra.
