Austin Buddhist Prison Projects |
||
|
Volunteers from Austin Buddhist communities have been engaged in instructing at local prisons and jails and in corresponding and providing reading materials and meditation supplies to inmates. Several of these projects are loosely organized as the Austin Zen Prison Project, a collaborative effort primarily of people from the Austin Zen Center and the Plum Blossom Sangha. Another project is centered at the Austin Shambhala Center, the Shambhala Prison Project. New volunteers are always welcome to help teach our classes. You don't need to be a Buddhist but you should have a solid meditation practice. See the following links to enquire. |
