Gatesville Prison

The Gatesville Women's Unit of TDCJ is served by volunteers from Austin Shambhala Meditation Center.  Currently, the women's unit, located about 40 miles northwest of Temple, is visited on a monthly basis, and both Buddhist education and support, as well as training in secular meditation practice, is provided.  Volunteers also correspond regularly with interested inmates.
